Of course the day I’m completely hungover and useless would be the day a prospective supplier nails me with a spur-of-the-moment video conference. That moment of panic when I’m furiously scrubbing the smeared makeup from underneath my eyes and tugging fingers through my hair stings to be sure, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the horrifying ‘wish-the-earth-would-swallow-me-now’ shame induced by his comments on the fact that I’m still in my pajamas in the middle of the day.
